Remember – War of the Son Episode 1 Review

Remember: War of the Son has a vague resemblance to Pinocchio. The revenge plot is similar but different in the sense that this drama takes us into the world of lawyers.

I, for one, was psyched up about a new Yoo Seung Ho drama. He was pretty awesome in 2012’s I Miss You, which I also managed to cover in this site. He was styled impeccably back then and I’m seriously hoping this drama is no exception.

Things started out pretty intensely with Seo Jin Woo (Yoo Seung Ho) visiting his dad in prison. His dad couldn’t recognize him, likely due to Alzheimer’s. If this is proof of his style in the upcoming episodes, I’m a happy lady.

I love this green coat from the Andrea Pompilio F/W 2015 collection (which oddly looks different in shade on the runway). I also love how Korean guys are not just relegated to the classic briefcase. I mean, this bag? I’d get my hands on it myself if I could.

The story takes us back to four years ago when Seo Jin Woo was still a clueless high schooler. His dad obviously dotes on him. Even coming from a genteely poor background, he’s still dressed pretty decently.

Seo Jin Woo and Lee In Ah’s (Park Min Young) crosses paths when they both got in the same busy. Jin Woo was on his way to high school and In Ah was dressed up for uni.

Lee In Ah’s style is very Kdrama female lead actress but with more preppy to boast. Not complaining. I love myself a nice kdrama female lead with a preppy style.

Jin Woo was getting off the bus when In Ah noticed the slash on her bag, her wallet gone missing. Flashing the law book she was clutching, she told everyone on the bus not to get off as everyone is a suspect.

At the police station, In Ah singled out Jin Woo as the most likely thief just because he was the one who bumped into her. Jin Woo showed his stellar photographic memory and recounted the events with chilling precision. He can remember everything, every detail of the event and came to the conclusion that the thief is the same one on the police’s wanted list.

And apparently, he also likes accepting roles of psychopaths. The last time, he was a serial killer in The Girl Who Sees Smells and now, he’s a psychopath with narcissistic tendencies.

Nam Gyoo Man singled out Oh Jung Ah, the girl his assistant, Ahn Soo Bum hired to sing for their exclusive party.

Seo Jin Woo couldn’t get ahold of his dad. He’s been waiting all night long. It’s either he’s accustomed to his dad ditching him for dinner and not reachable for hours or he’s just too naïve to realize something could be wrong.

Jin Woo’s dad has episodes where he can’t remember things. He also keeps on buying new phones for Jin Woo. Jin Woo then took him to a doctor where he was pronounced fit and good after a brief check up.

Jin Woo and his dad went to Jung Ah’s funeral and offered their condolences to the dad.

Seo Jin Woo’s toggle coat and inner sweater are both from Tommy Hilfiger but I think they’re no longer available.

Jung Ah’s death sparked a nationwide outrage, with the police being pressured to find the killer. Failing to find one, they pinned it on Jin Woo’s dad, who was the first one to find Jung Ah’s body.
